A Review On “Nanay Tatay”Movie

About The Movie

The story of this movie centers on married couples Amanda and Lino who lost their daughter Malena at an early age. On their way back home, they caught up with three young girls – Olive, Paula and Bettina who just escaped from the syndicate . (The couples are unaware that these girls were coerced by their boss to rob them in the latter part).

Unbeknownst to these girls is that just when they thought their new home would be a safe haven for them turns out to be an eerie and unsafe place that houses a restless spirit of the couple’s daughter Malena. The big question lies though: Is she really dead? Or are her parents just hiding her somewhere in the house? As she has been possessed by the demon after they both made a pact with it and just made it look like Malena died due to rabies after being bitten by an animal?

As Bettina, Olive and Paula discover that Malena is still alive and was just imprisoned in the stockroom, they carelessly release her from the shackles, unaware of the consequences that they would face. Malena, now being possessed by the demon, ends up killing almost everyone in the house – except for Bettina and Olive who managed to escape from Malena’s terror.

So who’s really the big baddie here in the movie? The orphans? The parents? or Malena? or everyone of them?- That’s what Ill leave for you viewers to find out.

Verdict

After watching the movie, I could say that the director did really well in working on this movie project . The plot twist was really great wherein it kept the viewers thinking or guessing who’s really the bad one or the antagonist in the story.

The only thing that disturbed me while watching the movie would be the gory part like spilling of blood. You wouldnt think that a child of your own would be capable of hurting an innocent person , much less kill. I also found the part where Malena starts chanting ‘Nanay Tatay’ while the lights were going on and off eerie as she changed the stanzas or lines. But overall, the movie was really a great one to watch.

Nanay Tatay movie truly deserves to be part of the Sine Sindak. Please don’t miss out on this one if you haven’t watched it yet.
