Caffeine Overdose
What happens when a person goes overdose on coffee or any form of caffeine? Just how much caffeine should a person consume on a regular basis? They say that adults shouldn’t consume more than 400 mg of caffeine per day (equivalent to 4 cups).
Caffeine is usually a substance existing naturally in certain plants and it stimulates the CNS. This can be harmful when taken in large amounts and is mostly found in:
sodas or soft drinks (Pepsi, Coke, Mountain Dew)
certain teas
Chocolate (e.g hot chocolate drinks)
Coffee
OTC stimulants (NoDoz, Vivarin)
Workout supplements (i.e energy drinks)
Now a caffeine overdose occurs when someone consumes more than a normal or recommended amount, whether accidentally or purposely. (Source: “Caffeine Overdose Information” from Mt Sinai)
Symtpoms of caffeine overdose:
Restlessness
Anxiety
Dizziness
Upset stomach
Irritability
Insomnia
Palpitations
Tremors

My take on this:
There’s nothing wrong with enjoying a cup of Joe, but like what most people say, drink in moderation. This is something I am most guilty of as I would go overboard at times with coffee just to keep me awake while working or doing something else.
