Think you’ve got what it takes to be a content creator? Is it really easy to be one? Maybe yes? maybe no!


What Is A Content Creator/What Does He Or She Do?

Content creators are basically people who produce work on a variety of platforms – ranging from blogs, social media, podcasts, video platforms, case studies and so on and so forth. Content creation depends on where you work and where your audience is – your responsibilities will depend on these factors.

Tasks as a content creator may include:

  • Brand analysis – includes one’s tone and voice, design style, strengths, weaknesses, etc)

  • Content Ideation – In this area, one may be asked to flex his/her creative muscles through brainstorming relevant, engaging and unique content ideas that delivers or yields results.

  • Project Management – Digital content producers may be given a task to manage projects they are helping to create

  • Copywriting and Research – encompasses or covers a wide range of content types from engaging social media captions to long form blog posts, etc.

  • Design and Visuals – In here, it is crucial to elevate one’s content and gel with the persona through great design or photography.

  • Videography – Media platforms such as Youtube and Tiktok have opened new paths to connect with one’s audience , rank and tie content directly to products through video demos and reviews.

  • Editing – This type of skill is crucial especially when it comes to copywriting, videography and design.

  • SEO – Bloggers, videographers/video editors, and other web content writers should be well versed in this area and be able to apply its basics to their pieces.

  • Promotion – Once a content creator is done with his/her work, the first thing he or she needs is to make sure that the content reaches as many relevant targets as possible – either through link building , crafting an email for subscribers, PR pitches or social engagement.


Is It Easy To Become A Content Creator?

You may think that content creation is just as simple as 1, 2 , 3 .. but for a first timer like me? I still have a lot to learn – it’s not easy to be a content creator, in short. It may be a tedious task – especially if you want to focus on creating content as your nature of work. Content creation is not a bed of roses especially if it’s your first time. It’s a trial and error process and there’s a lot of tasks to do. Honestly? It’s never easy to create a content especially for an audience. Like what most people say, you can’t please everyone and people are still going to unfollow you at the end of the day but don’t go obsessing over these stuff and end up stressing yourself out.
